Hydric Soil by Address
Explore USDA hydric ratings and hydric-component presence for the soil map unit surrounding a selected address.

Hydric ratings need careful context
Hydric soil information can support early research, but it does not establish a wetland boundary or replace a wetland delineation. Map units may contain both hydric and nonhydric components.
Mixed hydric map units
Hydric and nonhydric components can occur in the same mapped unit. Component percentages describe the unit composition and do not locate a wetland boundary on the parcel.
Screening before delineation
Hydric ratings can help organize early research. Jurisdictional wetland decisions require the applicable agency process and site-specific evidence.
Why a property can show multiple results
The address resolves to a point inside a USDA map-unit polygon. That unit may contain several soil components in reported proportions, and the selected square foot is not directly sampled. The lookup therefore displays component percentages, attributes, and uncertainty together.
Source and limitations
Results come from USDA NRCS Soil Data Access and SSURGO after location matching through the U.S. Census Geocoder. Use them for research and screening, not as a replacement for field sampling, engineering, permitting, wetland delineation, or a septic perc test. Read the full methodology and data-source notes.
